Events at the Westport River Watershed Alliance

Volunteers are what keep WRWA going and give us the energy to protect the Westport River watershed. Here are just a few of the volunteer opportunities available at WRWA. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering for any of these opportunities or fill out our volunteer application.

Local events

There are several events  for which we need volunteers to hand out information about the Westport River watershed, sell items, and talk to people about the watershed and WRWA.

Teacher Naturalists

  • River Docents
  • Station leaders for Education Field Studies
  • Leaders for Walks and Talks

There are several committees, on which you can voice your thought about issues within the watershed, and get involved in carrying through the WRWA mission. Here are a few committees that you can join:

  • Education Committee
  • Fundraising Committee
  • Water Resource Committee
  • Advocacy Committee
  • Finance Committee

River Day

WRWAs annual river celebration in June is a popular summer event and we always need help with various tasks during the day.

Summer Gala

The Gala is WRWAs annual auction and party in August, and we need volunteers to help set up, with general operations, and clean-up for the event.

We often need help stuffing, sealing, and addressing letters, newsletters, and mailers.

WRWA is accepting interns in various fields. Please contact us for more information.
