Education
The Westport River Watershed Alliance connects children and adults to the Westport River and its watershed through hands-on, interactive experiences in classrooms, along the river, in coastal and upland habitats, and in the River Center.

Watershed Education Program (WEP)
Designed by WRWA, the WEP curriculum incorporates learning standards of the MA Science Curriculum Frameworks into a series of classroom programs and field studies for preschool through high school.

Our summer Watershed Discovery Programs offer children the opportunity to learn science through play and exploration, have up-close encounters with local wildlife, make friendships, build self-confidence, and much more.

Let WRWA help your scout troop earn nature related badges or complete a service project.

Utilizing natural places within the watershed or an indoor classroom at the River Center, WRWA can help you meet your homeschooling needs. Program themes and time frames can be customized for your needs.
Come visit us at the River Center, WRWA's headquarters. The River Center is ADA accessible, is supported by green technologies, and connects the community to the Westport River and its watershed. We offer programs for children, adults, and the whole family throughout the year in our learning center classroom. We also offer a variety of public programs for all ages at outdoor locations throughout the watershed.

WRWA is pleased to provide the Gay Gillespie Summer Program Scholarships for the summer watershed discovery programs and one Merit Award Scholarship each year to a graduating senior from any town located in the Westport Watershed.
